From Feedback to Feature: How Equip Evolves Based on Real User Input
Written by Mary Grace Milligan
At Equip, we believe that the best product decisions start with listening. Whether you’re a mentor, administrator, family member, or support provider, your feedback is the reason Equip gets better every week.
That’s because we don’t just build software—we build solutions to your challenges.
In this post, we’re spotlighting a few recent updates that came directly from user feedback, along with a behind-the-scenes look at how we turn suggestions into fully built features—without disrupting your day-to-day.
🛠️ Real Features, Real Input
Here are just a few of the ideas that have recently made their way into Equip:
📁 Pinned Documents Users asked for faster access to the most important files—things like medication lists, emergency contacts, or intake paperwork. Now, with just a few taps, critical documents can be pinned to an individual’s profile for quick access in any setting.
🎭 Custom Mood Icons in the Mobile App Every individual experiences and expresses emotions differently. Now, with customizable mood icons, teams can tailor the Mood Navigator to better reflect how a participant identifies and communicates their feelings—making emotional check-ins more personal and accessible.
🛎️ Custom Event Reminders Users can now set as many reminders as they need for each event—whether it’s one the night before or three throughout the day. Equip helps individuals stay on schedule with flexible, personalized alerts that fit their routines.
📈 AI-Powered Mood Insights Mood logging helps individuals express how they’re feeling—and it helps supporters respond with empathy. Our new AI-powered mood insights take this a step further: Equip detects mood patterns across time and sends proactive alerts when emotional shifts might indicate the need for support. It’s not just reactive—it’s responsive.
🔁 Built to Evolve—Without Interrupting Your Workflow
One of the reasons providers choose Equip is that we evolve the platform with them—not around them.
That means:
No surprises. We announce upcoming updates and provide support documentation before anything changes.
No pressure. New features are added in ways that enhance what’s already there—you can choose when and how to adopt them.
No disruptions. Updates are designed to fit seamlessly into your existing workflows, so you never have to re-learn the basics just to get something new.
Whether you’re managing multiple participants or supporting one person’s goals, Equip stays reliable—and gets more powerful over time.
💬 From Input to Impact
Every new release starts the same way: a comment during training, a note during onboarding, a message from a user in the field. When we see a pattern—or hear a particularly insightful suggestion—we take it seriously.
Some ideas are quick wins. Others require more time, testing, or technical work. But the goal is always the same: to make Equip a stronger, more responsive tool for the people who use it.
We know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to care or support. That’s why Equip is designed to grow in direct response to the needs of the diverse communities we serve.
🚀 What’s Next? That’s Up to You.
We’re constantly building, refining, and releasing new features—and your voice is what drives that forward.
